one additional game of interest...
Illini host Central Michigan - who currently have the nation's leading scorer.
Marcus Keene thru 10 games is averaging 31.4 ppg on 53% shooting overall and 44% shooting from the arc..
he also averages 4.6 rebounds and 5.1 assists.
Keene is originally a high scoring 5-9 guard out of San Antonio, Texas that nobody seemed to want so he accepted a scholarship to Youngstown State.
A bunch of turmoil at YSU led Keene to leave after his sophomore season - but even then, after he averaged 15 ppg as a sophomore there= he still didn't have a lot of interest from other programs.
Keno Davis isn't stupid, so Keno took the kid in and all he's done so far is carry CMU to an 8-2 record, won their last four games, and have the best RPI in the western division of the MAC.
BTW- Marcus Keene is a lot like Darrell Brown, Jr. so hopefully we have the same kind of scorer down the road...
btw- SIU trails Sam Houston State by 10 at halftime in Carbondale
