Attendance was not good. I do not know the official count yet, but it appeared to be a smaller crowd than any previous home game.

Bradley played much better tonight than in the past several games. Their rebounding was poor in the first half, but was improved in the 2nd half. They still gave up a few too many offensive rebounds though, considering Chicago State is not a big team and they are not a great rebounding team.

      Box score-

Shooting percentages were outstanding tonight- 52.2% overall (24-46) and 50% on threes (11-22). And turnovers were only 11 for the game.

I have not heard any reason why Jojo did not play until late in the 1st half, then did not play in the 2nd half at all. he played a total of just 3 minutes. And I am still baffled why Ronnie Suggs only played 8 minutes. He doesn't make mistakes, he defends well, and he can score.

      Attendance was 4,943

I am certain Suggs has no plans on transferring...that's not to say things could change but that's not what's going on

Attendance was 4,943- about what we've been drawing but the crown was vocal and energized...

I would have been discouraged with a narrow win but I am definitely encouraged with a nearly 40 point win over a team that had been averaging in the 70's

Once again we shot over 50% and scored over 80 - something that we averaged doing only once a year for the past 5 years but that we've done 4 times now this year!

great to see some of Bradley's HOF players - LC Bowen, Al Smith, Steve Kuberski, Sam Simmons!!

        MVC goes 6-3 tonight

Yes, it does count towards disqualification. His 1st T was a major and his 2nd was a minor. If he would have gotten a 2nd minor to go with his major he would have been ejected. 2 majors also gets you ejected.

            OK, thanks.

It seems like it is obvious Suggs and foster are transferring and wardle wants to play guys who want to be here going forward. That's the only explanation for why they don't play more. They are high energy high result players that make a difference when they get in the game.
Suggs has no desire to leave the program but it looks like he's being pushed out. What's happening to him is tough to watch, he's a good kid that works and plays hard.

We have always had a rule on the board that we will not put names to speculation about any player leaving, unless it is confirmed. We do not believe it is fair to the student-athlete for rumors or speculation about that to be discussed publicly. Thanks.

I am out of town but how did Bar foul out in 8 minutes against a team like Chicago State?

I thought Bar played good defense but he does wave his arms too much...
so that when he swipes at the ball, he picks up fouls..

BTW - not much mention of the halftime ceremony & the honoring of Joe Stowell...
That was one of the most memorable things they've done in a long time...I loved it...
was great to see Steve Kuberski, LC Bowen, Al Smith, Mark Dohner, and the 40-50 players that were there to honor Joe.

BTW- one quote from Joe Stowell from the Friday luncheon...

"He also expressed his thanks for Bradley extending this kindness,
helping smooth over the hard feelings he experienced in recent years
for a series of slights from the school.

"They replaced three people - the president, the AD and the basketball coach -
and I think they're on the right track," he said."

I thought Koch Bar appeared to play like he was told to be more physical last night. He did more pushing with his body and got called for it several times. But there were a couple that were questionable, like one for an illegal screen, and one on defense where I thought the CSU player backed into him and there was nothing he could have done to avoid contact.

Speaking of bogus calls- I agree that the "hanging on the rim" call on Donte Thomas should not have been called. In occurred on a fast break, and if he had not held on, he could have fallen on his back. Plus, there was a defender right behind him, and he couldn't tell if he was under him. You just don't see refs call that very much unless it is excessive and showboating, which it wasn't, IMO.

He would have been OK if he hadn't swung on the rim. Once he swung on the rim I told my wife he's getting T'd up and he did. That's what a ref is going to consider showboating. I really don't think he was either although that seemed to fire up the team big time.

Was happy with the D' by clogging the lane, helping with good switching and not giving up more than a couple of lay-ups. Last night it was good to see a guy on the team (Thomas) going hard on every play and aggressiveness to an opponent instead of letting all that come to him! He inspired the whole team IMO and thought Kennell did the same but his were called fouls. Also nice to get a couple of inside out plays....up until last night if the ball went down to the post it never came back out! Hope that Jo Jo is back to getting minutes after last night were gonna need him when Valley play hits!

                            What Do We Conclude?

I am glad that we won this game, of course, but I wonder what it means. Our 2nd half play was especially good. I mean no disrespect to Chicago State and I know that on a given night, any team can beat another, I just wonder if we played good because Chicago State isn't a good team or they didn't play well.

I hope to see a few responses so I can understand if we improved or not?

According to Chicago St Wwbsite, they turned around and played at ST Louis today at 2pm and lost 45-43. Could this be right? That's tough scheduling, and how bad is St. Louis to only win by 2 vs them on half a days rest? Wow

yeah - it was an ugly game, with both teams shooting poorly and Chicago State's top player, Fred Sims scoring only 7
