Big win by the Sycamores.
I have been watching the Illinois State-Tulsa game. ISU had an 8 point lead with about 5 minutes left in Tulsa, then Tulsa went on a 13-2 run to lead 70-67. ISU had a final possession to tie, but Tulsa fouled intentionally with just a 3 seconds left.
Then it got weird. ISU guard Paris Lee made the first FT to make it 70-68, then he intentionally missed his second FT. The FT never hit the rim, so that should have given the ball back to Tulsa. But the officials called a "double lane violation". Even on replay, I didn't see a lane violation, but a "double lane violation" goes out of bounds to the team who is scheduled to get the next held ball, which happened to the ISU! So ISU got possession back with 3 seconds left with a final shot to tie or win, but a long 3-pointer by Hawkins missed, and Tulsa wins 70-68.
Play-by-play action for the Tulsa Golden Hurricane vs. Illinois State Redbirds NCAAM game from December 7, 2016 on ESPN.
I don't recall the last time I ever saw a double lane violation, especially in such a crucial situation like that.
