Some trivia-
Ball State University is a state school in Muncie Indiana (about 60 miles northeast of Indianapolis), and they currently have about 22,000 students.
It was founded in 1918 through the philanthropy the Ball brothers (Lucius, William, Edmund, Frank, and George) who established what is now known as the Ball Corporation. They became extremely successful manufacturing glass jars and lids that were used all over the world for home canning. Their plant was located in Muncie, Indiana. The Ball Corporation, which has since re-located to Colorado, has branched out into many other areas including aerospace technology as well as metal and plastic beverage and food containers.
Ball jars and lids are still widely used by home canners, but the jar and lid manufacturing is no longer part of the Ball Corporation. They spun off that part of their business in 1993.
The younger fans might not remember these jars, but anyone over 50, surely would-
