Loyola over Norfolk State 75-62
Evansville beats DII Wabash 83-39

I am not convinced. They may be able to rally on their home court and pull out a close win over the team picked 10th in the MVC, but I still do not believe they can compete in the Big East. 3 of their top 5 players (Billy Garrett, Darrick Wood, and Chris Harrison-Docks) are seniors, and one of the players who has started every game for them is a walk-on who averages 1.6 ppg (Hanel). The other starter is a juco guy, McCallum (not an underclassman). They lack depth, and the only new guy that Dave Leitao has brought in that has impressed me is Eli Cain, but Dave Leitao needs a lot more than just him to replace Oliver Purnell's players that he'll lose this year. He does have a couple transfers sitting out this season (Max Strus a D2 transfer from Lewis, and Austin Grandstaff who has failed at 2 previous schools) but I am not sure how much they'll help.Originally posted by tornado View Post

after road win at EIU, Bradley's RPI jumps 60 points (to 265) and helps boost the MVC Conference RPI from 15th to 13th despite bad losses by UNI, Evansville, Indiana State and Drake
..not that I think we'd ever get an at-large bid, but would sure like to beat the bad RPIs we've had the past 5-6 yearsComment

In the Loyola/Norfolk State game, Loyola's starter and leading rebounder Donte Ingram injured his knee and left the game and did not return.
Initial tests indicate he will not need surgery and that his ACL is OK - but he's being held out for more testing - timetable uncertain.Comment
