another stat line - since we've played most of the past 5 years without a point guard..

our three guys sharing the PG spot tonight (Brown, Hodgson, & DLO)
combined for 26 pts, 16 rebs, 10 assists, 2 steals and 13-15 from the FT line...
just need to clean up the TO's

and our TEAM 3-pt shooting pct is now 37%!!
We have not had a season where our team 3-pt pct, was that high since 2007-2008! (Crouch, Warren, Theron Wilson all shot 40%+)

and we have over 80 points for the 3rd time this season...
keep in mind we accomplished that only 6 times in the previous FIVE seasons combined..
That's funny - I have been very impressed with Koch Bar, and he has a decent B-ball IQ too. Still a bit raw, but he will be similar to Bayo's presence in a couple seasons - watch out Valley when he becomes a junior!

I'm sure that will be so, Lefty!

Also JoJo has been a key contributor early in the season - love his athleticism and keeps it pretty much under control.

Was Eastern Illinois A Good Team?

I don't know much about the Panthers. At times, they looked good, but maybe that was where we had less than stellar defensive moments. I looked up power rankings and they were at 35 for this season?? We are at 291?? Am I misreading? Did we beat a good team, out shoot, out rebound and give away the ball 3 times as much as they did and still win? Something doesn't sit right about all of this. Maybe the power rankings are not updated enough. We should be slightly higher and they should be much lower.

We showed real grit at the end when it mattered. If we slow down, we'll be less out of control. Also, DLO looked very deliberate and controlled when shooting free throws. We seem to be out of control sometimes. We don't have to play slow, but at what ever speed that reduces turnover to a third of what they were last night. Go Braves.

I believe we beat a team that would finish somewhere in the 5-9 spot in the MVC - they were picked in the upper half of the OVC but it's hard to know since it's early - they have been in every game they've played...certainly not getting embarrassed the way a couple MVC teams have done
