Ryan Stepanovich/ Elija Childs Tracker
Both of our committed recruits could only muster 13 points each in high school games. Are these guys really talented enough to play competitively in the MVC? Are we recruiting the right kind of players to rebuild our program? Again, High school boys who only average 12 to 15 per game are not going to help BU very much IMO. WE NEED A COUPLE OF JC PLAYERS WHO CAN SCORE, ARE TOUGH AND ATHLETIC, AND CAN PLAY WELL ON DEFENSE, and are true MVC caliber players. THESE GUYS COULD BE SEEDED IN WITH OUR YOUNGER PLAYERS AND PROVIDE SOME ON-COURT LEADERSHIP.

wizard- with all due respect....
-most of the really reliable 20-30 ppg scorers are gonna go higher than midmajor. There really just aren't a big pool of them that Bradley has a high chance of landing
-of the MVC kids who were 20-30 ppg scorers in high school (Matt Chastain, ISU's Johnny Hill & Kaza Keane, Evansville's Harris Brown (averaged 38 pg!), Drake's Oregundade, SIU's Diamond Taylor and many many more...)
.....gobs and gobs turned out to be complete and total busts and wasted scholarships...
-and honestly, wiz, Brian Wardle is a grand total of 17 games into just his 2nd recruiting cycle with his 1st cycle being accomplished LATE in spring of 2015 when there was essentially NOBODY still remaining who was unsigned.
-at this point - just a dozen and a half games into Season-2, Jim Les was getting blown out by 20-30 by Drake and Molinari was getting slammed by 35 points by SIU...
-only 11 NJCAA (JUCO Division I) players are averaging over 22 ppg, and unfortunately not one is in the midwest near us...
of those in DII juco - I previously mentioned one who plays nearby....LINK but it didn't seem to generate a lot of interest from anyone else...

Cape Girardeau Central at DeSmet tonight - no score avail yet
DeSmet plays Saturday night at Missouri Class 5A Top ranked Chaminade 7pm (Chaminade put up 102 pts tonight to go 11-1 - LINK - LINK)
edit..
In Tuesday night's game Elijah Childs had a game high 16 points
Also DeSmet beats Cape Girardeau Central 51-50, Ryan Stipanovich had 10 pts, 13 rebs, 8 assists, 2 steals, 3 blocks - but only had 1 foul
DeSmet goes to 6-7 but note that almost every team they have played is a Top 10 ranked opponent...Christian Brothers, UHigh, Chaminade, Parkway, Webster Groves -- they really have played a tough schedule.
fyi- Bradley 2018 recruit Gaven Pinkley is averaging 22.1 ppg, 10.8 rpg, 4.2 apg, 2.2 bpgLast edited by tornado; 01-11-2017, 05:16 AM.
