As always, the Itoo Spaghetti Supper event was awesome..
fully 150 or more people there waiting outside at 5:00pm - a half an hour before doors opened! Then a packed house with most everyone staying right to the end of the program of player intros...
A few new tidbits were heard - including some talk of one of the top Aussie young players also is interested in Bradley as part of a future recruiting class... more on that later..
Next up, the Red-White scrimmage on Sunday, Oct. 23.
Good time tonight...sat with Alex Foster and Koch Barr. Koch said he was freezing this morning .....I said it will get a lot colder and he has never seen snow, very happy so far on the Hilltop!

I hope there were more than just 150 people there. Doesn't the Itoo Hall hold over 1000 for capacity?
The True Gentleman is the man whose conduct proceeds from good will and an acute sense of propriety, and whose self-control is equal to all emergencies... - John Walter Wayland
The 150 number was the people waiting to get in at the start....
there were prob in the range of 500 altogether, even Dave Reynolds states the 500 figure...
but I am not sure 1000 would fit in the hall all at the same time.
it'll take more time to build back up to the kind of crowds we used to have, but certainly the enthusiasm is way back up..
Don't forget, the previous AD decided the program under their failed model did not need preseason events like the Itoo Hall Spaghetti Supper.
It was eliminated for several years, as were almost all other Bradley fan events. When you combine the kind of anti-fan mentality that our previous administration had, along with the terrible scheduling they gave the fans and tried to sell as a "great schedule", and along with massive failures on the court like-
>>86 losses in 4 years, which is 19 more losses than in any previous 4 year period under any previous coach in Bradley's 113 year history!
>> Winning percentage of 0.348 (46-86)- by far the worst winning percentage of any coach in Bradley history (for coaches who coached more than 1 season)
>> 2 dead last place conference finishes in 4 years under Geno Ford, including a dead last place finish in year 4 (with an MVC record of 3-15 in year 4!) and an unprecedented string of all 4 seasons landing in the Thursday play-in games.
BTW, here is a surprising fact- no other coach in Bradley history ever finished alone in last place in the MVC even a single time, or ever had 4 play-in finishes, let alone 4 in a row!
>>The only Bradley coach who never recruited a single player who ever received a single 1st team, 2nd team, or Honorable Mention All Conference award in their entire careers! (Donte Thomas is the lone remaining Geno recruit with a chance)
>> Not to mention unheard-of drops in season ticket sales, attendance, donations, BSS and Braves Club membership, general fan support and much more.
To me it is a miracle there are any fans left in the wake of that damage and it is a testament to the loyalty and perseverance of the great Bradley fans!
well, even worse, it was Michael Cross 100% who phased out the Itoo Supper & cancelled other preseason events, and yet in a writeup in the PJS they falsely BLAMED the whole thing on Ken Kavanagh.
Kavanagh himself heard about it and contacted the PJS and asked for a retraction and to set the record straight.
Just coincidentally, as he has stated multiple times before - Dr. Chris Reynolds said again last night
that the single thing he heard the most when he was hired as AD was the desire by Bradley fans to have the pre-season Itoo Supper brought back, and one of the first moves Dr. Reynolds made in 2015 was to announce it would be brought back.
Good question. I did not see him there (on Oct. 13) but I did see Dave Reynolds.
Dave Reynolds did tweet once to mention the Itoo Supper but just to link to his column in the PJS
