Although this article is titled "A Sweet 16 in the Class of 2016", the writer, Chicago Sun Times writer Joe Henricksen, who is a great high school sports reporter, is a little mixed up.
This is actually the class of 2017-
Joe Henricksen edited his column and changed the title from:
"10 past recruiting steals from Illinois still playing big in college hoops"
to
"11 recent recruiting steals from Illinois enjoying college stardom"
and he added Morton's Brett Bisping. There are 2 local players on his list, including Washington's Alec Peters.
Brett returns to Siena for his senior year as the leading returning rebounder (10.5 rebounds per game last season), and the 3rd leading scorer (16.0 ppg) in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, and his team's top scorer and rebounder from last season. He helped lead Siena to a 21-win season last year, but unfortunately, our previous coaches did not considered him or Alec Peters athletic enough to play at Bradley.
