  • Who will be on the 2016-17 Preseason All-MVC team?

With a little over 2 months before the 2016-17 season starts, who will be selected on the Preseason All-Missouri valley Conference team, and who will be the Preseason POY pick and the Preseason Freshman or Newcomer of the Year?

This season might be the most difficult to pick in years, since nearly all the top talent in the MVC graduated or left after last season.

Here are the top scorers last season, and note that only 8 of the top 20 scorers will be returning this season. 11 of the top rebounders return, but none who averaged more than 6.3 rpg.
All of last year's 1st team All-MVC players were seniors, and 4 of the 5 2nd team players were seniors, too. Only Brenton Scott, a sophomore, was selected to the 1st or 2nd team All-MVC as an underclassman.

    Overall stats-

    MVC Conference stats-

    Last season's All-MVC players-

This year's Preseason All-MVC teams will be tough to predict, since there are very few players who stand out, and a bunch who have similar, though modest, resumes.

My pick for Preseason POY is Jeremy Morgan of UNI.

My Preseason 1st team All MVC is:
    Jeremy Morgan UNI
    Deonte Hawkins ILSU
    MiKyle McIntosh ILSU
    Dequon Miller MSU
    Reed Timmer Drake

    2nd team:
    Chris Kendrix MSU
    Brenton Scott INSU
    Sean O'Brien SIU
    Markis McDuffie WSU
    Paris Lee ISU

    Other possibilities:
    Milton Doyle LU
    Luuk van Bree BU
    Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye BU
    Mike Rodriguez SIU
    Landry Shamet WSU
    Shaquille Morris WSU
    Obediah Church MSU
    Jarred Dixon MSU
    Jaylon Brown UE

    Anyone else got thoughts?

Possibly the value of the point guard might push Paris Lee into the 1st team but then one of the ISU guys will drop out...
Lee is the only ISU player who over the entire season averaged enough to be in the Top 20 but he also was among
the top players in assists, A/T Ratio, steals & FT shooting
