IPFW (Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne) announced today that their athletic teams will be known as "Fort Wayne" instead of IPFW.
This change differs from the change Southwest Missouri State made when they changed their name to Missouri State in that only the athletic teams will use the new name. The University itself will not be changing and will still be referred to as IPFW.
