  • Serious NCAA violations at Mizzou

among other things - thousands of dollars (over $10K) given by boosters to recruits & players and the severe charge of "Failure to Monitor" their men's basketball program..

The NCAA gave them one year of probation...
in addition to self imposed penalties mainly consisting of forfeiting some past victories, restricting recruiting, then Mizzou took a SELF-IMPOSED POST-SEASON BAN - in a season that they knew they weren't going anywhere in the post-season anyway (they were 10-21), and took away one scholarship for one year plus one other sometime before 2018 at their discretion.
    Whoa....

the players involved who got the extra payola to come to Mizzou were named as
Jordan Clarkson, Tony Criswell and Cam Biedscheid, Ahmed Hill, Jakeenan Gant...and at least " 11 players and three members of a players’ family"...

Two (big time, wealthy) boosters Mark Tuley & Fred Dehner were named as the guys who broke the most impermissible benefits rules.

more serious violations uncovered - this time - Mizzou hired a tutor to do athletes' work for them...

Yolanda Kumar, the former Missouri tutor who admitted to providing improper academic assistance to multiple athletes in 2016, said she's been named in a new notice of allegations attached to the school's ongoing NCAA academic fraud case.
