  • BU women lose to SIU

The Lady Braves came out 3rd best in a 2 woman fight. The final was 64 ???‚¬??? 40 and it wasn???‚¬?„?t that close. The women were within 4 at the half 28 ???‚¬??? 24, but that was more a result of SIU???‚¬?„?s poor shooting. The Salukis fixed that in the 2nd half.

BU was led by Erika Nelson with 14. Devyn Flanagan chipped in with 9 all coming in the 1st half. Flanagan didn???‚¬?„?t play that much in the 2nd half for whatever reason. BU???‚¬?„?s offense sputtered at best as our spacing was poor. Too often our passes were handing the ball off. Then we would get trapped and have to lob a lazy skip pass. Unfortunately that skip pass was to SIU more often than not. The ladies will have to regroup for Saturday???‚¬?„?s game.

Tks for the update MR. Almost came down for the first half with my Lil' Brave but she was a little cranky and opted out. I hope Flanagan is OK - I think she is a key player for Paula's team.

I don't think she was hurt.

Yeah, I was there. Devyn was fine... I sometimes don't understand the subs that Paula makes. Anyway, rough game... I was hoping for a win after the Lady Braves took down Drake on the road.

            Story:

Southern Illinois limited Bradley to just four field goals and 18.2 percent shooting in the second half, as the Salukis blew open a four-point game at the half and defeated the Braves 64-40 in Missouri Valley Conference women's basketball action Thursday night at Robertson Memorial Field House. Bradley fell to 5-10 overall and 1-3 in Valley play with the setback.
