  • DLO injured in tuneup to Britain's U20 play

but in one of the tuneups on Tuesday, Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye suffered what was described as a foot injury severe enough to rule him OUT of the entire rest of the U20 competition ** **

In the tuneup game, Britain lost 59-53 to Portugal with DLO injured early in the game and missing almost all of it

In Monday's friendly tuneup, DLO had 8 pts, 5 rebs, 2 asst

we can only hope for DLO's sake, that it is not serious..
but if it was instantly identifiable as ruling him out for the entire tourney, then it sounds bad...
a fracture such as Andrew Warren had or Wichita's Landry Shamet could be months out..

I wonder if they will bring him back to Bradley for them to look at and set up a treatment plan? Maybe we will hear something in the near future.

The latest article about the British U-20 team refers to DLO's injury, but still does not give any specific information about it-
The focus shifts from the process of improvement to points and performance as GB U20 Men prepare to tip-off their European Championship campaign in Greece on Friday.

Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye's foot injury is now being described as a fractured bone in the right foot. He will wear a boot, and hopefully return for the start of practice in mid-October.

that is a slightly encouraging report, but very few details as to which bone & where...
but any fracture comes with that nagging concern that they sometimes heal way slower than expected...

Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye is now 7 weeks into the recovery from his injury which was described as a fracture in one of the bones of his right foot.

Up until just this week, he was noted to be walking with crutches and his foot in a splint, however...
now he's being pictured as walking without crutches, but still in a "walking boot" for foot protection.

The time required for full healing is quite variable and some references say guys can occasionally be released for activity in 6-8 weeks, but given the strenuous degree of activity we're talking here, I would think he'd still have the boot on and not be released for another month or two.
