At Florida A&M, one of the remaining open head coaching jobs, one interesting candidate being considered is Pat Kennedy, who applied for the job. Kennedy has been out of coaching for the past 2 years, but had a fairly successful 11 year stint at Florida State, followed by not-so successful stays at DePaul, Montana, Towson and Pace University (NCAA Division II school he was only 12-42 in 2 seasons). His last winning season (12-21) was 1999-2000 in his next-to-last year at DePaul.
Kennedy was once considered a very good recruiter, but he has not recruited much in Florida since he was last at Florida State in 1997.
But the strong sentiment is that FAMU Athletics Director Milton Overton will most likely select a black coach.

A website that tracks all the college coaching hirings and firings suggests that maybe Bradley assistant coach Drew Adams, who was once an assistant at New Mexico under Steve Alford, could be "in play" for the open head coaching job now at New Mexico-
But then they followed that tweet with this one-

that Drew Adams' name is even mentioned in this context is remarkable respect...as Drew has never been a head coach and with Bradley's record he past two years - you'd figure nobody would be looking at him..

It is being reported that Georgetown will hire Patrick Ewing as their next coach.
Ewing has been an NBA assistant coach for the past 15 years, but has never coached at the college level.
They supposedly tried to hire several "big name" college coaches, but struck out, and settled for Ewing

what's interesting is that from their Danny Granger era 'til now, the Lobos have had one after another unfortunate setback coach firings, player flops & losses, huge drop in fan interest & attendance...etc..
it is almost as if that move doomed them to a decade or more of curses...
Even Craig Neal's own son kinda saw this coming and transferred out of New Mexico in
