Don't worry T, your really gonna like who ISU is bringing in as assistant
Great - must be someone from the Jim Les (or Mo) Coaching tree - Eric Buescher? Dodie Dunson?? Jud? (except he just was hired by Marquette)
Any word on Deontae Hawkins and what he's up to - missed a couple court dates and has some warrants out for him - has he cut out of town like Quintin Brewer did so they couldn't find him?

Northern Illinois plays at Marquette this coming season. Judson will be coaching against his former team.
My first BU hoops game was on 12/30/1963. My dad took me to watch the Braves defeat Arizona 67-59. He helped me get Coach Orsborn's autograph before the game.

His position at Marquette is "Special Assistant to the Head Coach", whatever that is. However, it is not a coaching position, so technically if he stays at Marquette, he won't be "coaching" against anyone.
But, I have heard rumors that he is being considered for the open assistant coaching spot at ISU.
Brendan Mullins, a suburban Chicago native who most recently worked as an assistant men's basketball coach at UIC for two seasons, is staying in-state to serve as Illinois State's new assistant coach, head coach Dan Muller announced Friday.
To fill the open slot as Basketball Assistant at ISU...ISU will hire Brendan Mullins away from UIC...
Brendan Mullins is the son of the head of the Illinois Wolves AAU program and brother to past SIU star Bryan Mullins *
SIU has promoted their Director of Basketball Operations Justin Walker to fill their open Assistant Coaching spot
one of their other assistants had a recent accident in which he was issued a DUI that was never made public, and a court date later this month..Hmmm...
...Michigan head coach John Beilein hires ANOTHER ISU assistant - Luke Yaklich is pegged to follow Haynes to Michigan......
ex-ISU assistants Yaklich & Haynes did well for themselves....
MOST midmajor assistants are making $80-100K and contracts are generally year to year...
BUT at Michigan they will almost triple their salary (Yaklich $225K plus bonuses) and get TWO YEAR guarantees and have the possibility of $30-50K more in bonuses
ANN ARBOR — The basketball office at Michigan sits on the second floor of the Player Development Center. From a foyer atop the stairs, a narrow hallway leads past a series of doors toward John Beilein’s spacious office at end of the corridor. This summer, all but one nameplate among the...

UIC will reportedly hire former Illinois star Dee Brown as an assistant coach
Dee Brown was hired initially at University of Illinois in a new, creative position called "Special assistant to (then) Athletic Director Mike Thomas". He then transitioned to his role on the staff of John Groce at Illinois in a newly-invented position called "Director of Player Development and Alumni Relations" earning $200,000 per year - almost triple what most full time DI coaching assistants make.
He even described his job duties and it sounded an awful lot like just greeting Illini basketball recruits when they came to campus (his position did not allow him to coach or recruit off-campus) and make them feel comfortable.
Then suddenly resigned just five months later, right at the beginning of the 2016-17 basketball season, "for personal reasons" - very strange that he would just walk away from a $200,000K stepping stone job into the coaching profession he had always said was his dream. It still remains a mystery and out of respect for his claim that the reasons were personal, nobody has ever pursued them or published why.
I had "heard" he was looking to find a way like Jank to "graduate" from the MVC
...apparently the admin at ISU knew he was looking elsewhere as well and is trying to lock him in..
I didn't think speculating was allowed? Usually everyone is looking for more money in the coaching profession. Also it helps winning a league title and showing the ability to progress the program.
Or winning the MVC outright, or winning the MVC tournament, or getting an NCAA bid at least once in a career, or winning at least one NCAA game, or advancing past the 2nd round of the NIT, or winning any postseason game away from home....
where did you read that? Here are the rules for this message board and speculating is never mentioned. The only thing close only covers the Bradley players & staff not ISU guys anyway.
But name me one message board in the universe where there's NO speculating allowed?
I read the ISU message board occasionally and it's 99% speculation - very little fact and nobody ever even bothers to correct the wildly erroneous speculation..
Like...
-your whole speculative starting five thread
-speculation on Hawkins and why he left
-speculation about players' eligibility - " I have heard " Not sure its a fact" that one of the jc transfers did not meet the NCAA academic transfer rules"
-speculation about Copeland and even silly claims like "I don't see why he wouldn't be able to play at semester break" when he's completely ineligible for the ENTIRE season
BUT - getting back to the topic- right after two assistants get hired away for salaries 2-3 times what they got at ISU - then ISU throws an MVC-unprecedented 7-year lucrative contract at him in the middle of a budget crisis?
It's hardly speculation what's going on - you don't think he'd jump at a BCS opportunity if it came knocking?
