The Missouri State writer picks how he thinks the MVC will play out..

    He has Bradley finishing 8th

"8. Bradley: Lots of experience returning from a nearly all-freshman team that
was 3-15 in the league last year. Coach Brian Wardle kept that team engaged
all season, and more improvement this year should be expected."

He feels like his team, the Missouri State Bears - could make a run for the top of the MVC, but he seems a bit uncertain about the frontcourt.
He also seems to be saying the reason all those players are leaving SIU is because of the kids' parents pressuring them to leave.

    Here's how he picks them

    1. Wichita State
    2. Illinois State
    3. Northern Iowa
    4. Missouri State
    5. Loyola
    6. Southern Illinois
    7. Indiana State
    8. Bradley
    9. Evansville
    10. Drake

Time will tell. He could absolutely be better in areas, but Fred had a calm understanding. He was a leader early and had great awareness/vision. Landry is taller and longer and more athletic. I look forward to his development but FR Landry will probably not be better than SR FVV.

If he is, holy hell. Everyone better watch out.

If he's better than Fred ... a 6'4 athlete with a 67" box jump and better than Fred .... He wont have a sophomore year ...

That said, I agree, Maybe Senior Landry will be better than Senior Fred, but i wouldn't expect it anytime before.

remember the predictions by Shocker fans that neither Fred nor Baker would stay four years either..

btw- here's a preview of Evansville - this writer seems to think they're gonna be pretty stocked!!

These guys pick the MVC this way - LINK

            10 - Bradley
            9 - Indiana State
            8 - Drake
            7 - Missouri State
            6 - Evansville
            5 - Northern Iowa
            4 - Loyola
            3 - SIU
2 - ISU - but they partly credit this #2 ranking to Milik Yarbrough & possibly the other transfers...
            - "The best of the group..Malik Yarbrough...could slide right into the small forward position and provide the kind of well-rounded play"
..however, he is NOT eligible this year - LINK
            1 - Wichita

Even if they didn't know when he'd become eligible, you would think they could at least spell the kid's name correctly. It's Milik Yarbrough

They also do not seem aware of Deontae Hawkins injury.

This one has so much to disagree with.

something's happening...you got anything to clarify?

Greg Williams isn't listed on the roster and now Missouri State is handing some really late 2016 scholarship offers that they DO NOT have unless at least one of their expected players isn't coming.

I'd have to think the issue involves Greg Williams, since his is the name that's expected to be on the roster but is not...
                  then this.....

Greg Williams - a couple more health-related setbacks - and they sounds pretty danged serious - even being labelled "NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE" in the 3rd link below.
... post-op complications, wound infections, unable to eat for long periods and was very frail and weight dropped to 130 lbs!!! (he's reportedly 6-6)
...and then, just had repeat hernia surgery. Is not on campus yet and not expected until fall. Hasn't been healthy in over year, throw in a serious achilles injury as well that caused all the bigger schools to pull their scholarship offers, and he has not been playing ball in most of that span from last summer 'til now. There definitely have to be a few question marks....
Missouri State has an open practice this Sunday in advance of the team leaving on their summer exhibition tour- so maybe we will hear more..

A lot of travel for Greg Lansing if he's going to coach TWO teams.

We have been told there is no reason to worry about Williams: http://www.news-leader.com/story/spo...iams/86465992/

We are also offering a money back gurantee: http://www.news-leader.com/story/spo...ntee/87910822/

Lusk will sink or swim this year. Williams was a roll of the dice, we will see how it works out.

Our SID states that Williams is not enrolled in school yet, but will, and when he does, he will be listed on the roster and will wear #2.

From an eyewitness account, two of the 3 JUCOs will be significant impact players, Rosseau and Johnson are very skilled. They both played in the summer Pro Am league in Springfield, which to be honest, is an odd sort of league. HS Players and guys like Anthony Toliver play in the league. Rosseau is undersized, so it will be interesting to see how he translates to valley play. Johnson is a very good stretch 4, I actually feel he is the best recruit we have had in a while.

                        Jarrod Dixon looks much improved.

that is incredible....never heard of anything like it and your AD says he cannot find anything like it in all of college sports!!!
But it does only apply to NEW season ticket holders only who are just now signing up...and comes with "some restrictions" ..including - after you see the first 9 games your seat location might be "different".

But - if NEW season ticketholders buy season tickets and don't "like what you see" you can get a full refund!!!

"New season ticket holders have until Dec. 29 to decide they don’t like what they see from the product on the floor, return their unused tickets to the JQH Arena Box Office and get a full refund.

That could result in fans seeing nine games — one exhibition and eight home games in the nonconference portion of the schedule — for free after getting a refund.
“Whatever your reason is for dropping, that’s OK, there are no questions asked..."

Hope it works out for you!

HOWEVER - that very article saying we had nothing to worry about stated he would be on campus by end of June, cleared for workouts, enrolled in summer session, AND "He should be making the trip to the Bahamas for the team’s foreign tour"...
which LEFT today without him - didn't it???
NONE of his "promises has apparently happened...so wouldn't that kinda void any guarantee on Williams and start some worrying?

Also - many schools - including BU - added their signed players to their roster long before they enrolled or were on campus.
Bradley had all their new guys added way back in April but they weren't on campus until June.

we will see some evidence soon, as Wichita is about to head to Canada for 4 exhibition games, but Markis McDuffie may not play as there's a report he has a torn meniscus in his right knee.
Also freshmen C.J. Keyser is said to be out for the Canada trip due to "stress injuries", and Austin Reaves is said to have a torn labrum, which is really a tough injury to come back from and sometimes needs surgery.

Also Steve Solomon - LINK - has reportedly quit the team.

Just for clarity, Austin Reaves has already had surgery (back in May I believe) on his shoulder. He's just in the rehab phase at the moment. He should be ready for the start of the season.

Just as a follow-up to the conversation we were having. Greg Williams is on campus at Mo State, enrolled, and is said to be ready for November.
