  • Yuba - Xavier Crawford update

Yuba College won last night over Merritt College 79-64.
The article below mentions Xavier Crawford, though he wasn't one of the high scorers. 6'4" shooting guard Aaron Garner scored 39 points for Yuba. Garner was looked at a lot by Coach Jim Les, but BU backed off because they had Jeremy Fears. They are very similar players.
Garner is now committed to Boise State.

I heard from Coach Cornelius recently about Xavier. Xavier is getting much better as he learns what kind of effort he has to give every game. He starts and plays most games, but he is foul prone and sits a lot because of fouls. He averages about 6 points and 5 rebounds a game. Those numbers seem low because Yuba has several talented sophs who are big time scorers and rebounders. Xavier was injured slightly in a game last Friday when he was undercut for an intentional foul. He hit his head and had a slight concussion, but didn't miss any games.

do we know if xavier is coming back next year? It would be nice to have a 7 foot guy with a little college experience to allow AT and WE to get use to the college environment.

He can't come back next year. He was a non predicator and must graduate from a JC. He would be here in the 08-09 season.Wish he could but not possible.

Another big Yuba win- Xavier Crawford is mentioned again in this article. He scored 8 points, but it sounds like he had a good rebounding night.

            Da Coach--
any chance of asking COACHCORN what web site we can go to if we want to see the games stats or the team's cumulative stats?

Here's the school's site, but no stats yet and results haven't been updated in quite awhile:

The sites that should have the statistics for Yuba and the Bay Valley Conference are badly out of date, or are not kept up at all--

                Yuba statistics-

Bay Valley Conference statistics page (last updated December, 2001!)--

Bay Valley Conference main basketball page (last updated in May, 2004)--

And a couple other subscription sites that kept more detailed info on the California Junior colleges do not appear to be working anymore. So I don't think the stats are available online. We'll have to hope we can bother Coachcorn occasionally for updates.

Nope, I found the right pages.

                  Go here:

then select "MEN" and "Select All", and you will get the up to date standings and all the statitical leaders.

You have to get it all through the women's pages, as the links to the men's pages are dead.
But the men's stats are all right there, and here are a few examples that highlight the stat leaders who are from Yuba:
