Summer & pre-season events
t.....Further to our discussion regarding Summer & Pre-season events, here are a couple of suggestions which I think fans will really appreciate and which will serve to enlarge our fan (and contributor) base and create even more fan enthusiasm:
1) OPEN PRACTICES: Starting this summer, we need to have certain dates where fans are welcome to watch team workouts and practices. I do not believe these need to have any kind of formal program or structure beyond the normal practice routine. These could be in the main RC court or the BU team court. No tickets or anything other than allowing fans to come in and watch several times this summer and into the season.
2)FAN BREAKFASTS & LUNCHES: These are excellent events and attendance could be limited to Braves Club members down thru the Silver category. Certain team members could be invited to create more fan/player contact.
3) BUS TRIPS FOR CERTAIN ROAD GAMES: again, the old bus trip program which Ken Goldin ran should be reinstated.
4) BRAVES CLUB HOSPITALITY ROOM IN CARVER: The old Braves Club room at Carver before games and at halftime was very well-attended and brought fans together at the games in a great social and Bradley Basketball atmosphere. The current concession stand halftime line for free popcorn is tacky and doesn't really do much for fans who donate to the program. I realize the Braves Scholarship Society has a vey nice half-time room with food, Etc., but what about those Braves Club people who donate up to $1000 each year? I realize that location is a problem but, somehow, there has to be a way to establish a room for Braves Club donors at least thru the Silver category. This should also attract and upgrade lower level Braves Club contributors.
