  • J-term ticket mess

I was really disappointed to see that BU sold about 2 full rows of seats to SIU fans right in the middle of the student section. One group of 6 or 7 SIU fans showed up with 10 minutes left in the 1st half and made BU students move, then left during halftime, and did not return until 9 minutes left in the 2nd half. I know the student section really doesn't exist during winter break, but still that 1)makes us look bad and 2)begs for a fight to begin.

Also, why can't some sort of student section be set up during break and kept as general admission? Yeah, a lot of students are home, but there was still about half of the section filled with students tonight. It wouldn't be that hard to poll student season ticket holders when they buy tickets to see how large of a section to reserve for winter break, then sell whats left as regular tickets.

Not to mention, every other team in the MVC lets students in for free except maybe one other. However, it's cool the Braves Club pays for the tickets for any student who goes to St. Louis for the tourney.

It just ticks me off. It seems like other universities put more effort in their student sections from away games I've been to. Bradley wants to be put back on the map as Les puts it, but it seems like no one is worried about giving students the directions.

Hey, you guys did a great job tonight of making it a real bad experience for those SIU fans. No wonder they didn't spend much time there.

abesimpson, I suggest you write a letter/email to Ken Kavanaugh. I think he would be happy to listen and respond to your questions.

Talk is cheap - give it a try.

I was also very diappointed to see a dozen or so SIU fans in what is normally the student section.

It seems to me that most schools treat their student section as somewhat of a sacred area that is reserved for the biggest fanatics out there. Unfortunately BU is a little behind in this respect. As students we should always have a designated area to cheer from reguardless of the time of year.

The only good part about it was I got to see the shocked/disguested/angry looks on all the SIU fan's faces as thousands of people went crazy when that last basket went in.

Serves them right for sitting in OUR section.

Unfortunately our illustrious AD has never had much regard for "student seating." I know this from students and prior students. I have a friend ( a students mother) go face to face with him about these very same issues. Nothing changed.
And that is wrong- wrong -wrong
This is, first, the students school and their team!

It's tough to monitor student section when they are on break. I went to the Illinois/Ohio State last weekend. I was able to get tickets where the students usually are. Unfortunately, I was surrounded by Buckeye fans. They were actually polite even though their team was handing out an whooping on the floor.
