Always a Brave team in FINAL FOUR of The Basketball Tournament
The Always a Brave team has been trying to pound the ball inside to Patrick O'Bryant, sometimes trying a little too hard and creating a lot of turnovers. But when POB did get the ball inside, he was able to score a bit. Marcellus Sommerville recovered from a cold shooting stretch in the middle of the first half to sink a couple three pointers late and help the Braves pull out to a 6-point halftime lead at 36-30.
Always a Brave got a little sloppy late, but so did the 120 Sports, and the Braves held on for a 74-68 win.
Patrick O'Bryant made a difference. 120 did not have a big man who could match up with him. But it was Marcellus Sommerville's scoring, especially 3-point shooting that was the biggest factor. Congratulations Braves!
They will play Sunday against the winner of the Bluegrass Boys vs. Jackson, TN.
I thought POB would be able to dominate. That wasn't the case, but he had some moments. Not sure what he was thinking jacking up that 3 with a minute left. Cellus was the difference maker. Lots of BU fans in attendance!
Upset in the final game of the day..
the #16 seeded Jackson TN Underdogs beat the Bluegrass Boys (Kentucky Alumni) 87-78
..despite an enormous discrepancy in FT's -
Kentucky shot 38 FTs compared to 18 for Jackson - and a 30-18 foul discrepancy despite Kentucky having to foul many times down the stretch
