  • He is re-writing his obituary and can't respond right now...

    Comment

    • I'm on every day and very seldom post. At least one or two members of the other board know that I am real and a loyal Bradley fan. Being 2000 miles away prevents me from attending over three or four games a year but I still get to Peoria and see games when I can.

      • I have had several people PM me about how they can watch the replay of Friday's game between Always a Brave and Pedro's Posse.

So for anyone who did not have the opportunity to watch the game, or if anyone wants to watch it again, here is the direct link to the ESPN3 replay of the game-

With Watch ESPN you can stream live sports and ESPN originals, watch the latest game replays and highlights, and access featured ESPN programming online.

Actually, work called if you want to know the truth. Also, I appreciate you deleting that other post. You can tell me why in a PM, assuming you don't delete this comment as well.

As for attendance, in 2011, Les final year, average attendance was 8447, and had already been declining for a few years, but I guess thats irrelevant. To me, I have to wonder if Buescher should receive as much praise if not more than Les. Buescher was there for the Sweet Sixteen and the NIT year. The years after that we declined.

wouldn't surprise me if we had a coach in Vegas as it's one of the hottest spots in this last week of the July period

First, my comment (and Chico's) were referring to Tornado, not you.

Your 2nd post was repetitive, and it said the same thing as your first post (), used an expletive, and was an attack-post directed solely at another poster, instead of posting opinions, ideas, or a reply. Those are rules violations.

As for attendance- 8,447 per game would look pretty good right now.

We all know why the attendance dropped in the 2010-11 season. The administration sabotaged the program to create a justification to fire the coach, and the team lost its 2 best All-MVC players. That team still won 12 games in a much tougher MVC, and they did not play a cupcake non-con schedule like they did under Geno.

The previous season, in 2009-2010, they averaged a healthy 9,339. Attendance remained incredibly strong throughout the JL era (see bold text below).
In fact, the total attendance in 2007, 2008, and 2009 (in red) are the three highest total attendance seasons in Bradley's history. More importantly, the 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and even 2011 seasons all saw record revenues and donations to the program. Membership in the Braves Scholarship Society peaked in that 2010-11 season. Donations and season ticket sales did not start drop off significantly until after the coaching change in March, 2011. They dropped almost 2,000 in Geno's first 2 seasons! And almost 3,000 over Geno's 4 seasons! There is no way any of that can be blamed on anyone other than JG, MC, and GF.
Unfortunately, with the damage done in 2011 and after, we may never recover to the levels we had.

                  • I was (and remain) a Jim Les fan. He is in the BU hall of fame!
However we got here, I am very glad we have the coach we have now. I believe Brian has the goods and that one day we will be so happy with him that nothing else matters, BU wise. Let's make Bradley Basketball great again!

                    • seems the only two coaches who came even CLOSE to averaging 9,000, and even 8,000 were both fired by short-sighted admins...
our Presidents & admins (not counting KK since he was one of the good guys who made great moves) repeatedly have a pattern of making horribly bad firing/hiring choices....until, of course, now....we finally have some smart people in place

and Fyrebird, this is the last I will say on the topic, but sure, we celebrate here once in a while, and occasionally point out how horribly wrong some people and their motives were...and sometimes poke a little fun at the anti-JL crowd.. it's just what message boarders do!
But get back to me when you see this board with 700 page thread filled with hate and vicious juvenile attacks.

There has not been anything official announced, and I doubt there will be. I don't think there are many fans there, so your presence will be appreciated.
I wouldn't be surprised if they follow a similar routine today to what they did Friday.

The only thing I know they did was to have their pregame meal at The Cheesecake Factory around 4 hours prior to game time.

From 10,000 to 8447 isn't much of a decrease if it takes a "few" years. Most coaches have good assistants. I'm sure JL was glad to have CB sitting next to him.

I'd rather know where the Marquette team is eating before the game. I could buy them a round of drinks...or maybe two rounds...

                              • Imo, Williams and Bibby were the two most skilled players on the floor. If they were both 5 years younger that game would have been a shoot out we might not have won. Of course if they were both 5 years younger they would probably be in the pros and not in this tournament.
It was really cool watching all these old Braves playing again, and I would feel as good as if it were the NCAA tournament should they win it all. Too bad POB isn't in a little better shape or we would dominate.
