Safe to say Mike that it's better to begin the season under the radar like Bradley did this year than enter with high expectations like Wichita State. Bradley has been resilient in bouncing back after losses. The Shockers, who looked like world beaters against us, haven't been as fortunate. What's impressive is that the Valley will have all its member schools at least playing .500 ball overall as we reach the one-third mark of the conference season. It will be interesting to see how Evansville bounces back after that humiliating loss in Springfield Tuesday night. Still lots of games to be played to shake this out. If Drake and Wichita can get their mojo back, the Thursday games in St. Louis this year may truly be well worth watching!

Wichita State's next two games are at home against
Evansville and Creighton. While I would expect them to win
at home against Evansville the Creighton game is 50/50 in
my opinion.WS could be lookin at a 2-5 start.I believe BU
gets a chance at revenge on the 20th.

Looks like Wilson only had 4 pts tonight...........maybe it just me but seems like he's been in college for 7 or 8 years....wasn't he recruited by Self?

3-3. One game up early going in the battle to stay out of Thursday night. But most importantly, we are keeping ourselves within shouting distance of the top.

How quickly things change. Just a couple weeks ago Wichita State was being considered a possible Final Four team, and Mark Turgeon was being talked about as a Coach of the Year candidate.

Now they have lost 4 of their first 5 games in Valley action.
They only lost 4 league games all last year!
If you visit the Shocker's fan bulletin board you read topics like these that seem to show their despair--

            Blame Turgeon-

            Why? Why? Why?-

            That does it!-

            The sky is not falling!-

See you in the NIT (posted by a SIU fan)-

Funny, but wasn't Wichita at #8 in the country at one time?
Right now they are tied for #8 in the Missouri Valley.

I dont think Witchita has fallen that badly, sure they're getting eaten up inside its own conference, but I think it just shows that if you unleash all the MVC teams upon the nation we'd do some DAMAGE

Its almost as if the MVC was its own little island, ignored and secluded from the world feeding off of itself so no one took us seriously because no one really ventured in or out. We just became accustomed to eachothers skill level and surpassed the rest of the conferences.

What gets me the most, is how the MVC has the #2 spot for RPI, all teams are above .500, with a lot of them fairly highly ranked in individual RPI and yet...no press...no real TV coverage. No one cares. They'd rather cover some crappy team at a school of 30,000 because its a larger audience.

I'd just love any team in the MVC to win the NCAA championship. If we dont get a bid, I'll be cheering for every MVC team.

Bradley may not win the MVC, but last night I saw some pretty convincing evidence who should be the MVC Coach of the Year.
One of the coaches I saw did not make adjustments when he saw his opponent go to a zone, and admits he made a mistake by not doing so.

The other coach responded with a great move when Zack got two lightning quick fouls, and also drew up an awesome play,
