  • Recruits at the game?

I was on the other side of the arena and really couldn't make out who was behind the bench. Does anyone have any info?

I am not aware of any recruits at the game. If there was, it might have been someone local?

Dave Snell thought Sam M. might have been at the game. He said that he had seen his mom and dad.

Sam was there. I saw him sitting behind the BU bench. Carlton Fay was also there behind the SIU bench. Wonder what he thinks today!! Can't believe he went to SIU.He is a stud.

There was one kid there with his father.
He was not on an official visit, but was there on his own and sat in the area just off the end of the bench where the recruits usually sit.
All my usual avenues of finding out who the kid was came up short. But he really picked a great game to watch BU!

I really looked around for C-Fay but never saw him, as I sit clear across from the SIU bench.
I did walk behind the SIU bench about 10 minutes before the game, but he must not have gotten to his seat at that time.

            Tornado

I saw the father son team I think you talk of. The father had a Red Decatur Stenson (sp? stevenson?) Running Rebel jacket on. If that helps.

Here's just a couple things I have heard on a couple kids who are being looked at by BU.

Regarding Washington's Matt Roth, ISU and SIU may be offering teammate 6-0 guard Sean Johnson a walk-on spot. They want Roth but are hoping by getting Sean Johnson it might be a little benefit in luring Matt Roth next year.
BU is at a slight disadvantage with recruiting walkons. Their tuition is much higher (ISU and SIU have taxpayer subsidized tuition). Fortunately, BU does have a couple things to offer Sean Johnson and Matt Roth that neither ISU or SIU can offer.

BU offers a top university with repeatedly recognized academic superiority to certain other schools, and it offers a coach who can develop guards like Johnson and Roth in a system that uses 3-4 guards, all with the opportunity to do what they do best - put up shots and score. Plus Bradley doesn't average scores like 46 - 50 points per game (hint-SIU and ISU DO!), which has to really bum out shooters like Roth and Sean.
Also, has anyone heard about Matt Roth's little brother?
He is an 8th grader at Washington Middle School.
If you want to know a little more about him, PM me.

One more thing I heard is that Jim Les really likes Josh Edmonds, the senior GF who stars at Peoria Notre Dame under ex-BU grad Eddie Mathews.
Most knowledgable BradleyFans readers already know where Jim Les' son Tyler goes to school (freshman at PND), so of course Jim Les has been to a few games there, even though Tyler Les doesn't presently play on varsity.
Jim Les does not presently have a scholarship available for 2007, but things are in the works....and they may involve Edmonds. Again PM me if you want the scoop.

Lastly, BU is getting close to possibly nabbing a big guy...I'll include it in my PM if you want.

Do we really want Roth that bad? If Johnson wants to actually play basketball in college he should not walk-on at a D1 school.
                  Can we start winning soon?

I guess I'd defer to Jim Les on this one.
He seems to think Matt Roth will be a great player at BU.

Roth sounds like a great player. I wouldn't think SIU or ISU would be a problem... but what I've heard is that the Big 10 interest he's starting to get could be a problem.
