  • Indiana State gets a commitment from juco shooting guard

Indiana State lands a commitment from 6'5" shooting guard Demonte Ojinnaka of Cloud County Community College. He averaged 11.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg, and shot 34.5% from three. Cloud County was 10-22 on the season, and 2-17 in their conference

hafta admit this one stumps me....right in the middle of a fairly fertile recruiting period with some decent juco kids showing their skills at the national tourney...
unless Lansing's planning to clean house and open up a bunch more scholarships...

but if this is his final scholarship for 2016, which it appears to be, then he's using it on a shooting guard who scores just 11 pts per game for a team that can't seem to win a game.
This kid could be a sleeper but he appears to have ZERO other offers and only interest from the likes of Coppin State & Maryland-Eastern Shore...

      Lansing only gets "Sleepers".........poor recruiter.
and yes expect some on the current roster to matriculate to greener pastures.

well Syc - I certainly can't be too critical since year after year Coach Lansing does come up with at least one guy that hardly anyone knows about who becomes a real thorn in our side...
Odum, Lathan, Arop, Brown, Scott....time will tell

That is one of his problems, he gets ONE good one each year and the rest normally don't measure up. He gets zero in-state players that anyone else in the state wants & that list isn't just IU & PU it is IUPUI, Ball State, Valpo, etc.
Even Jake Odum was coming in as a walk-on until they wised up & offered him at the last minute when another team or two became interested.
