The newest post-season tournament is the Vegas 16. However, they also have not updated their website, and if they have accepted teams yet, there is no way to tell. But they will sell you T-shirts with their logo!

I am amazed that 4 hours after the NCAA selections were announced, these also-ran rate tournaments still haven't even gotten their websites online or updated, and if they have selected teams, they don't seem to be in any hurry to let anyone know. You'd think they might want to capitalize on the interest of basketball fans being at the highest today, but apparently not. If this is any indication of how these 2nd rate tournaments are run, they won't survive long.

I am hearing that Illinois State is hoping to play in the Vegas 16 Tournament, but there is no confirmation yet who their selections are.

The Veags 16 has officially become the Vegas 8, and the tournament members and match-ups will be announced today.

Interestingly, the only Division I Illinois school playing in any postseason tournament (NCAA, NIT, CBI, CIT, or Vegas 16) is playing in this year's Vegas 16- Northern Illinois will play UC-Santa Barbara in the 2:30 PM Pacific time game on Monday, March 28. NIU's last game was March 10 in the MAC Tournament. So they will have 18 days of rest before they play in the Vegas 16 tournament.

You're right. In my opinion, if you aren't good enough for the NCAA or NIT, it's time to pack it in for the year and get ready for the following season. Even the officiating is bad in the other tournaments because, like the good teams, the good officials are working the NCAA or NIT.

The Vegas 16 tournament started with their quarterfinal round of 8 teams on Monday, March 28. The semifinal games are Tuesday, March 29, and the championship game is Wednesday, March 30.
