If that is the final list of teams in the CIT, it will be interesting to see how they bracket such an unusual number of teams (26 teams). Apparently, they were not able to get 32 teams like they have had in every previous year.

The South Carolina State game at Grand Canyon is on CBSSports channel - Dan Majerle has done a pretty awesome job taking a virtual unknown college from obscurity to Division I to actually winning consistently at DI!

They are 25-6 and have beaten San Diego State, Houston, New Mexico State and several other good teams.
and get this -- they draw almost 6,000 per game which would put them among the top 2-3 in the MVC!!!

Coastal Carolina beat Mercer.
Furman with a 1 point win over Louisiana Monroe.

The CIT started with 26 teams, and pared them down to 13 teams after the first round. Then, 3 teams received a bye for the 2nd round- Texas-Arlington, Columbia, and UC-Irvine), while the other 10 teams played 2nd round games to reduce to a Final 8.
There is one more 2nd round game scheduled for tonight (Mon. 3/21)- Boston U. vs. NJIT.

The quarterfinals are March 22-24, and the Final Four will be played March 27 & 29.

bizarre that they cut the tourney off at 26 teams...tells ya there just aren't a lot of teams willing to shell out the money it costs even if they get a home game.
