I have to think some other schools will come after Coach Craig Doty. It is tough enough to win national championships at any level, but to make it to the championship game 3 years in a row, and to win the championship in 2014 & 2016 (they lost a close game in last year's final) when you're dealing with 2-year students is quike a remarkable accomplishment.
Coach Doty did not get named head coach at Rock Valley until October, 2012, just as the 2012-13 season got started. The team he inherited was ranked in last place in the N4C Conference/Region IV preseason poll, but still managed to post a winning record his first season. But within 1 year, he had the best D3 juco team in the country. Most of his players are local to the Rockford area, and most are freshmen!
