  • Brian Wardle's former team going to NCAA Tournament

Almost the entire team of Wisconsin-Green Bay that Brian Wardle recruited - won convincingly last night after upsetting Alec Peters & Valparaiso then upsetting Wright State...

Virtually every key player on the squad that is currently being coached by Linc Darner - was Brian Wardle's

Congrats to Green Bay & all those Wardle recruits!!

also - encouraging - is that one of their KEY players, Charles Cooper - was a very late juco addition to Green Bay last May from Kaskaskia
He was named All Tournament along with Alec Peters & other Green Bay kids
So there are still some very good players available that late...although there's evidence he was landed at Green Bay in April of 2015 but was being recruited there while Wardle was at Green Bay - so he may also be a "Wardle guy"...

One other thing - before he was at Kaskaskia, Charles Cooper was at Neosho Couinty where Freddie McSwain is now

    Green Bay

I watched most of that game also but did you notice that kept saying how great the current coach is but never heard Brian's name mentioned once as the coach that actually recruited the players.

BU was lucky to land a Head Coach who was willing to walk away from a program he built which gets to the NCAA Tourney to resurrect a last place team in a tougher conference!

Says a lot about Coach Wardle!

He deserves all the support BU, its sports loving alumni, and fans can give!

Yes it does. Kudos to Coach Wardle. It also says a lot about our Board of Trustees, specifically Judge Jim Shadid and Chairman Doug Stewart (who have never gotten enough credit), and our new AD Chris Reynolds who did their homework, and worked many hours and spent a lot of the University's money to fix the problems in the administration and the athletic department, and go after the best available man to be the new coach.
I hope they know how much the Bradley fans appreciate their efforts on behalf of Bradley!

Green Bay's Linc Darner did well enough in his very first year at the helm in Green Bay that he's gotten a two year extension thru 2022!

there were some who thought the hiring of Darner was a poor choice..
Meanwhile, previous National Champion Florida Southern did very badly without him...
they were just 10-19 but lost 10 of their final 12.
