Here's the best mid-major players who are still left playing...
In the NCAA:
- there's only one team that might be called a mid-major....the rest have all been eliminated one way or another
Gonzaga has Kyle Wiltjer (transfer from Kentucky- Calipari didn't want him, 20.4 ppg) and Domantas Sabonis (17.5 ppg & 11.7 rpg)
In the NIT:
Alec Peters (Valpo) 18.5 ppg, 8.4 rpg
Maurice Watson (Creighton) 14.2 ppg, 6.5 assists per game (ps- Creighton was ticked when they got sent to NIT in the MVC but now they seem happy ?)
Chase Fischer (BYU) 18.3 ppg
Kyle Collinsworth (BYU) 15.3 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 7.6 assists per game
Tyler Cavanaugh (George Washington) 16.7 ppg, 7.6 rpg
In the CIT:
Josh Braun (Grand Canyon, coached by Dan Majerle) 16.9 ppg, 41% from 3-pt
Damon Lynn (NJIT) 18.6 ppg, 5.2 rpg
Luke Nelson (UC-Irvine - was on the British U20 team with DLO) 13.9 ppg, 4.0 apg
Mamadou N'Diaye (UC-Irvine) 7-6 shot blocker, 12.2 ppg, 7.1 rpg

How does Duke get caught with such a totally ineffective bench?
Plus - their bevy of low post players weren't very effective.
They cooked their own goose by going so deep with basically just 5 guys..
Duke has always had a bench-load of McDonald's All Americans...this game was close until the 2nd half, then Oregon simply blew away Duke, riding a 10-15 point lead most of the 2nd half.
How can they have so few quality big men?
Duke looked gassed.

All 4 winning teams tonight (Fri 3/25) are ACC teams. And the last of the midmajors were eliminated tonight (Gonzaga). All 4 #1 seeds remain. The Elite Eight consists of 4 ACC teams, 2 Big 12, 1 PAC 10, and 1 Big East team.
2 of the Final Four are going to be ACC teams.

Syracuse game plan was drive head down into the lane and launch a shot hoping the refs will bail you out and send you to the FT line..
and the refs complied...sending Syracuse to the FT line more than 3X what Gonzaga shot even tho a ton of hammering was going on down low
Both are good teams but I kinda thought Boeheim played the refs and the played along

I only watched a little??¦mainly the last several minutes but I can't believe how neither of these teams have a bench??¦??¦4 Zags played 38 minutes or more and they played only one sub???¦??¦Syracuse only played 7 guys??¦..that's really hard to believe
