The NCAA Director of Media Coordination/Statistics and the Media Coordinator for March Madness has confirmed that:

ICYMI, Texas A&M's rally from 12 down w/less than 1:00 to play is the largest last-minute deficit overcome to win in college hoops history.

Old record was set in February 2005. UNLV was down 11 to San Diego St. with 59 seconds left. Also won in OT.

Can't Buy This Kind of Publicity - UNI and MVC Get Millions of $$$ of it!

What could have been a 'shining moment' for The Valley turns into a disaster for the Conference... Labels MVC as just another long shot mid major....

Of course, as they say, bad publicity is better than no publicity, and boy, will UNI and the Valley be in the headlines for a long time..

there has been a lot of talk this past week of how strong the Valley teams are, how you cannot underestimate them or take them lightly, and how they always seem to come to tourney games prepared and play well.
Really a tough break that they lost such an easily winnable game from the 30 second point on...but it gives every MVC team hope...

heck - we even played quite close to them in Peoria 'til our guys got gassed & hit the wall

Not in a NCAA Tournament game, but a MVC game, if my old memory serves me right I believe Bradley blew a 28-0 lead to I believe New Mexico State back in the 60's.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

that was late 70's (1/24/77), Bradley scored the first 28 points but still found a way to lose

I was living in California at that time, and that game even made the front page of the Los Angeles Times sports section!
                  Here is the AP story-

Those were my UCLA years, though I never stopped being a Bradley fan

Before the years of the internet and ESPN, it was really hard to follow Bradley. In order to follow the Bradley results, I had to subscribe to the LA Times, and read the scores.

Thanks for bringing back a horrible memory. I remember going from euphoria to shock that night. Not as painful as UNI but still painful. Feel really bad for a really well coached team that fought hard after a low point early in the season. Such a hard "last" memory for three great seniors.

After watching that again a couple of things stand out to me??¦

1-Jesperson's foul sure didn't really look like a foul and was called kind of late

2- with the 2 point lead I can't believe Washpun just didn't turn left and dribble up the sideline??¦he would have got fouled for sure??¦

I still can't believe they choked that bad

I may be wrong, but, UNI might have run out the clock by just throwing the ball high in the air downcourt 4 straight times on inbounds plays. By the time UNI and Tex A&M players fought for control each time, no way A&M would have time to launch and make 4 x 3's.. .

Re BU 28 point collapse, I was recuperating from knee surgery (Peoria Park District Flag Football Game, courtesy Owl's Nest Team) during my first year with Cat in Peoria. Had to suffer, literally and figuratively, listening to that game on the radio in my hospital room at Proctor.

-In NIT - Alec Peters ...
Remy Abell doesn't have eyepopping scoring stats but he really helped Xavier to a tremendous season...finishing at the top of the Big East 27-5.
Remy started every game, played the 2nd MOST number of minutes on the team, was their designated top defender who drew the opponents' best player every nite, and had the fewest turnovers of any player who played more than 10 mpg. He was their glue guy and sacrificed his own scoring to help his team win. Remember - he was signed here and wanted to play for Bradley....he'd have been All MVC at least 2 or 3 of his years here.

Valpo advanced in the NIT over the weekend with Alec Peters going 9-14, 26 pts, 9 rebs against Florida State and potential NBA talent

One other ex-Bradley guy - Nate Wells and Ball State are still alive in the CIT

I thought we didn't recruit Peters?
