Division I college basketball is in a sorry state in Illinois, but in Division III, the top 2 teams are from Illinois-

Augustana (now 26-1) has been the #1 ranked D3 team most of the year. But now Benedictine University of Lisle, illinois, has moved into the #2 ranked spot. They completed their regular season undefeated and will start the NCAA D3 tournament with a 27-0 record. There are even a couple other Illinois colleges in the top 20 of Division III- North Central & Elmhurst (the only team to beat Augustana this season).

There are no Illinois colleges in either D2 or D1 that are even receiving votes for the top 25.

Top ranked Augustana was upset last night, so the only Illinois team advancing to the Division III Final Four will be Benedictine University of Lisle, Illinois.

The D3 Final Four are Benedictine University (30-0), University of St. Thomas of St. Paul, Minnesota (28-3), Christopher Newport of Newport News, Virginia (30-1), and Amherst College of Amherst, Mass. (26-5).
