Prior to this season starting, pretty much everyone assumed either Ron Baker or Fred Van Vleet would be the MVC Player of the Year.
But both have had less spectacular seasons than most expected, and a few other players have emerged as outstanding players, including Egidijus Mockevicius, who is having a memorable season.

Who will win the MVC POY?

Fred Van Vleet 12.4 ppg (13th in MVC scoring), 5.5 apg (2nd in the MVC)
Ron Baker 13.8 ppg (9th in the MVC), 4.8 rpg (17th), 3.3 apg (6th)
Egidijus Mockevicius 16.3 ppg (5th), 13.8 rpg (1st in the MVC and 1st in the country by a wide margin), and 64.6% FG% (1st)
D.J. Balentine 20.5 ppg (1st), 4.3 apg (3rd)
Anthony Beane 20.4 ppg (2nd)
DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell 14.6 ppg (7th), 4.9 rpg (15th)
 
I would give it to Mock just based on stats....but you never know with Wichita's influence.

I think if Evansville finishes the year strong he will get it.
