Wichita never trailed in Des Moines as they beat up Drake 74-48. Drake only trailed 17-16 with 12:00 to go in the half when the Shockers went on a 27-5 for the rest of the half, including scoring the last 13 points, to lead 44-21. 13 players scored for Wichita led by Ron Baker who had 11 with 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
