Evansville played an extremely good game...
They passed well - two players had 5 & 6 assists..
They shot well and hit 27-31 from the FT line
and they got up 10 quickly and looked comfortable from there.
Missouri State had been playing well and had won 6 or their last 9 but they they really never threatened any time in the 2nd half

ISU is playing great in the 2nd half, and it's turned into a great game. ISU leads 51-48 with 4 minutes left, and WSU appears rattled.

Wichita led 33-21 at the half and scored the 1st 4 points of the 2nd to take their biggest lead of 16 and were looking like it was going to be another Valley runaway for the Shockers. The ISU remember that they beat Wichita the last time they played and preceeded to go on a 20-3 run over the next 9 minutes to get their 1st lead of the game at 44-41. Wichita was able to get the lead just one more time as ISU pretty much led by 3 for the rest of the game. Wichita was able to cut the lead to 54-53 with about 3:00 minutes left but missed their last 5 three point shots. ISU missed their last 4 shots to keep giving the Shockers a chance but 2 Paris Lee FT's with 10 seconds left sealed the win. For the game ISU were just 6-20 from 3 and 9-35 from 2 but made 22-26 FT's. Wichita was only 9-15 from the FT line and while they made 13-27 from 2 they were just 6-27 from 3. Lee led the way with 19 points. Fred Van Fleet had just 7 points but did have 7 assists as he and Ron Baker were a combined 5-21 from the field. I had said in my Game 12 predictions that these were the easiest 5 games to predict but I followed that up by saying that it would mean an upset or 2 was on the way. Sometimes I just need to hear what I'm saying especially when it comes to the topsy turvy Valley.

indeed...they do not look like the 18-0 team some had already anointed them as...
Van Vleet was 2-10 and only 1-6 from long distance, Baker was 3-11, 1-7...
Could this be what WSU looks like without Fred & Baker?

BTW - what's the bigger upset...
                          - a 1-win, last place team upsetting a team that was playing to remain in 2nd place
                          - or an 7-4 team that's tied for 2nd upsetting the team that's one spot ahead of them in the standings?

but the big difference - the Bradley fans didn't storm the court...

                          BTW - did you know??
Even in a rebuilding season, Bradley's home attendance average is UP more than 200 per game thus far !!
BUT - in a good year, with lots of hype, beating ranked teams, sitting in 2nd place, ISU's home attendance is DOWN 500 from last year!

Instead of playing the game in Normal, let's just say school with the highest attendance wins.

Give me the win over the ranked opponent over being a 1 win team in the league.

I would have to agree with you. I would much rather upset Wichita State than Indiana State. I do not care for Illinois State at all. However, that doesn't negate the fact that Illinois State played an exceptional second half. Their defense would have given a lot of teams trouble last night. Their offense also made baskets when they had to.

If Bradley would have upset Wichita State, we would have heard how we dominated every phase of the game and knocked off a giant. You have to give credit where credit is due. Illinois State, as much as I dislike them, played a very good basketball game, against a very good team.
