  • Here's a real paradox: a team wants FEWER students at their home games

University of Hawaii is having a great season - they are currently 17-3 and 14-2 at home

Their home attendance is way up this year and they just had a SELLOUT (10,300) for their game against Long Beach State (1st sellout since 2006)

    ...but....

but they are bummed about the fact that when the arena sells out - they don't make much on all those student tickets and they could make WAY more if the students stayed home...

SO - believe it or not, they will go with a policy to LIMIT student tickets (to 515) for any future game that they expect will sell out!!

In other words.... they want FEWER students because it'll help make a few more bucks!!

If the University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors basketball game against Long Beach State sells out, the UH will limit the number of students who can get into the arena using their student ID's for admission at 515.

    Ridiculous.

    Can we borrow some?

I don't know much about Hawaiian culture but maybe the UH basketball team is the biggest entertainment source sports wise down there.
