UNI and Evansville had a dog fight in the 2nd half as the lead went back and forth 12 times in the last 14 minutes. The biggest lead for the Aces was 4 and UNI's was by 11 in the 1st half and after Evansville went on top their biggest lead was 3. Wes Washpun led UNI with 14 including a possible Sportscenter Top Ten moment on a dunk over Egidijus Mockevicicius, who ad 14 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks to lead the Aces. D.J. Balentine was held to 9. Wichita State leads SIU 37-28 at the half. Anthony Beane of SIU scored their 1st 8 points and had 10 in the 1st 6 1/2 minutes then didn't score until about 4 minutes left in the half. That's when Wichita was able to increase their lead to double digits for most of the remainder of the first half. The Shockers have 6 players with at least 5 points. ISU Red leading 68-61 at Loyola with just under 3 minutes left in the game.

ISU Red goes to Chicago and beats Loyola 78-70. The Ramblers led for most of the first 30 minutes of the game and had their biggest lead of 9 right after the 1st minute of the 2nd half. The Redbirds then outscored Loyola 14-2 in the next 7 minutes to take their 1st lead. The lead went back and forth 10 times during the next 6 minutes. Loyola then went scoreless for 4 minutes while ISU got the lead up to 10 and made most of their FT's down the stretch to secure the win. Mikyle McIntosh led ISU with 21.
SIU really struggling against Wichita as they already have 17 turnovers with 13 minutes left in the game which has the Shockers up 53-36.

Wichita keeps on rolling as they won the 12th straight overall, beating SIU 76-55. Fred Van Fleet had 12 points and 11 assists as the Shockers had 9 players who scored at least 6 points. Wichita is 11-0 in the Valley giving them a 4 game lead over SIU, Evansville, ISU Red and ISU Blue. Missouri State is 6-5 and UNI has seemed to right the ship as they are now 5-6. Loyola is next at 3-8 and Drake and BU are last at 1-10.

I forgot to mention that Wichita's head coach Gregg Marshall became the Shockers all time winningest coach with 222 victories. He's also the winningest coach at Winthrop. There are only 3 other coaches in NCAA history who have done that, Johnny Orr, Jim Calhoun and good ol Lou Henson.

Fred does for Wichita what Adam Emmenecker did in 2008 for Drake...

he makes a good team unbeatable... 12 pts, 11 asst, 4 steals... plus the intangibles
remember they were a very mediocre team when he was gimpy or out of the lineup,
they started 2-4 and were 5-5 in mid-December - they will miss him more than everyone else combined
