SIU leads Evansville 35-32 at the half. The Salukis have never trailed and for the first 14 1/2 minutes were in control, leading 29-17. But Evansville outscored SIU 15-6 for the rest of the half. Anthony Beane is putting on a show as he has 18 points on 8 for 12 shooting. D. J. Balentine hit a 3 pointer at the buzzer and has 11.

Awesome game that went overtime and Evansville was able to pull out an 85-78 victory. Evansville finally got their first lead at the 11:00 minute mark and from that point on the game went back and forth. SIU had a 66-59 lead with 3 1/2 left but Evansville was able to tie it with :34 left on a 3 pointer by Mislav Brzoja. On the next possession SIU got it back to a 3 point lead with 6.2 seconds left thanks to Leo Vincent's 3 pointer. Evansville was then able to advance the ball 75 feet in 1.3 seconds and 2 timeouts. D. J. Balentine was allowed to get open at the top of the key and hit a fallaway 3 pointer to tie the score at 71 with 1.5 seconds left. SIU threw the ball away and the game went into overtime. Adam Wing put the Aces into the lead with a 2 and then SIU took their last lead on a Sean O'Brien 3 pointer. Wing had another 2 pointer and Brzoja hit a 3 and a free throw to give Evansville their biggest lead of the game at 79-74. 4 straight points by Anthony Beane brought SIU to a 1 point deficit with 1:00 left. Balentine made a layup with 36 seconds left to put the Aces up by 3. SIU couldn't get the ball to Beane in a good shooting situation and Vincent forced up a 3 that went out of bounds. Evansville was able to make 4 straight free throws to close out the game. Balentine and Brzoja led the way for the Aces with 25 points each while Beane led SIU with 30. Evansville shot 55% for the game, 8 for 11 from 3 and 15 of 19 from the FT line. Balentine never came out of the game. Looking forward to the next time they play as I think they are pretty evenly matched.

I believe that Mislav Brzoja is a familiar name on here. Isn't he a Ford recruit from a couple of years ago?

Yes- he got a Northwestern offer and committed there, then he got a late Villanova offer and changed & went there but barely saw any playing time...
he made the right move dropping back to mid-major level.

            couple other games..

Bradley recruit Dikembe Dixson had impressive numbers last night for UIC as he scored 32 points & grabbed 15 rebounds despite
UIC losing to Youngstown. BUT he played all 40 minutes and took 29 shots and went just 9-29! UIC is just 2-18 and winless in the Horizon,
but Dixson is averaging 16.5 ppg & 7 rpg. The other Brian Wardle recruit to Green Bay, Julian Torres was scoreless - he's averaging 2.8 ppg.

Northwestern got clobbered 76-45 by Michigan State and drop to 10th place in the Big Ten.
            Nate Taphorn was scoreless.
