The top 3-point shooting team on the season, Drake, visits one of the worst shooting teams, Illinois State (only Bradley has a lower FG% on the season) -

ISU won 76-64 and led by as many as 20. It was a game of runs for both teams. The officials tried to really take over the game in the 2nd half. I can't remember watching a game where team traveled as much as Drake and got away with it. Drake's Timmer was able to move backwards three steps near half-court one possession without dribbling. Higgins was one of the officials working. He must have been tired from doing his 7th game in 6th night.

MiKyle McIntosh had 25pts including 4-4 from 3. He is starting to really live up to the hype.

McIntosh isn't as athletic as some of their guys but gets more done with his efforts.
But I think the difference last couple games as to what's making ISU a better team is Justin McCloud off the bench...
In his first 20 games this season he was 15-59, just 25% - but since the Bradley game he's gone 9-13 (69%)

Drake turns the ball over as much as we do...but it accounts for how they shoot 55% & get blown out
Enevold, for a 7-footer, is amazingly unproductive...plays 20 minutes and gets 4 pts/2 rebs...
and last week against Loyola & Missouri State COMBINED - both of whom don't have any quality big guys, he did not score a single basket
But his worst stat is assists - the guy has STARTED & PLAYED 21 games and has SEVEN assists TOTAL - one every three games.

I wish we'd have been able to play Drake a coupe times during this nine game losing stretch they've had - just another quirk of our schedule where we've not gotten the last place guys as much as we've gotten the top teams.
Our luck - now Drake will start a hot stretch...

McIntosh is the best athlete on the team. Physically he might be the best in the Valley. No that doesn't mean he is anywhere close to the best player in the league. He has finally realized he can't just bull through people and his shot looks really good from outside. He prolly misses 3 and 1's a game that if he would figure out how to finish with contact he will easily average 20 a night. Drake struggled to have guys just catch the ball. Their turnovers aren't really forced by the opposition.

note something really odd in the Loyola/Wichita box score....

Loyola has a guy who played in that game named GLORIND LISHA
I have never heard of the guy - so I looked him up...
not much on him at all.....
He is NOT on their roster - LINK
but he has appeared for a couple minutes in four games - so he must be a walkon that nobody ever took the time to officially add to their basketball website roster..

It appears he also once played at Lewis (in 2014-15) - but if he then transferred to Loyola - wonder how it is he can be eligible without sitting out a year?
