METAMORA — Nate Kennell will be the next Metamora product to play men’s basketball at Bradley University soon enough. The Journal Star’s large-school Player of the Year last season as a Metamora ju…

If I were on a team that was 15-1 with championship hopes, I'd be emotionally invested in that too...over looking to come to a team who is like 2-15 and getting hammered nearly every game.

I would imagine Nate dreamed of being a Brave ever since his Uncke was a star for the Braves and his dream is coming true. I think he can help turn the program around and be just as successful as Uncle Aaron.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

I'm so excited to see Nate in a Bradley uniform. We obviously need guys who can put the ball in the hole. I truly believe Nate will be one of those guys. With the addition of him and Koch Bar, we should have a couple of really nice building blocks moving forward.

Kennell is a very good shooter, however, he will only be a freshman and to expect him to come in and be a difference making would be unrealistic. As for Koch Bar, from what I saw, he is at least 2 years away from being able to help and could very possibly be a redshirt candidate next year. Expecting the young man from Australia to come in and start at point and make a difference is expecting too much from him also. His highlight films look decent, but remember, the competition in foreign countries is nowhere near what it is here.

I would like to see a couple of scholarships open up and fill them with a legitimate junior college point guard and junior college shooter. This would also help balance out the scholarships per class. I know Wardle doesn't like to recruit junior college players, but in my opinion, if he wants to be competitive next year, he has to go that route. If not, in my opinion, it will be another season with probably single digit wins or not many more.
