Here is another bizarre occurrence in a game- In a late game Sunday night, Oregon State blew a double-digit lead in a Pac-12 Conference game at Utah. Then with the game tied 52-52 with about 3 minutes left, an Oregon State player was apparently upset about a non-call, and while the play moved down the court, he stuck his leg out and intentionally tripped the ref as he ran down the court as well.
The player was ejected, and a suspension is likely. One of the dumbest actions I have ever seen by a college player. Oregon State scored only 1 more point the rest of the game (they scored just 1 point in the final 5 1/2 minutes of the game), and Utah came back from 10 points down to win the game.
Here are a couple longer videos of the incident-
PS- note the presence of John Higgins, frequent MVC ref, among the officiating crew, though he was not the one that was tripped.
