Yup, we're just four days away from our home rivalry game vs. ISU, and what once appeared would be a hopeless blowout might now appear we can ramp up our guys' determination and make it a game...
and just sayin'......go read the ISU board - they even think we are going to win!
Now I realize we have a game tonight against Missouri State and our guys have to give 100% of their focus to that game...
but we fans can start talking about ISU since we're so talented with multi-tasking..
Anyway - something really weird is going on with the Redbirds - Da Coach touched on it in this thread...they seem discombobulated..
but here are some other things that are happening...
-their top freshman Roland Griffin - who was starting early on seems to have been severely demoted...
I know he was injured for a while - stubbed his toe - but he's been out of the walking boot for a week and was cleared.
But he has NOT even played in three of the past 4 games and played only 8 minutes last night.
-Tony Wills has been starting regularly - maybe out of necessity - but he's been really ineffective, averaging only 4 ppg.
-backup big man David (Daoud) N'Diaye is out for an extended period - hasn't been widely noted but was stated to have a stress fracture in his foot.
We've seen where these kinds of injuries often mean months of time off (Shockers' Landry Shamet and BU's Andrew Warren).
-Backup Keyshawn Evans - who looked good in the preseason games in Europe...and got a lot of hype as being able to step right in and play....
but now looks totally in over his head...can't score at all and hasn't played a minute in any game since he logged 2 minutes back on December 30.
He has threads over on the ISU board kinda asking him to transfer...sad...
but it would appear N'Diaye & Evans should have been redshirted - but it is likely too late now...played too many games.
