seriously - has any MVC team had to start the season with any tougher first four games?

-First game on the road at UNI where they virtually never lose - they even beat #1 ranked North Carolina on their home floor

-2nd game vs. the most dominant team in the MVC the past four years - especially now they are healthy

-3rd game against the hottest team in the Valley right now, SIU -

-then 4th game vs. Evansville - dominating opponents up til their narrow loss to Wichita last night on the road, but Evansville also has not lost on their home court.

Here's the records of the first four teams we get in league play

    Total record 45-17
    League record 9-3
Home record of the two we play on their home floor 15-0
Road record of the two we played here 8-2

The stage is set for a great 2nd half of the season and a chance for Coach Wardle to be Coach of the Year! Go Braves!!

Marty Simmons not taking Bradley lightly

their loss at home to Bradley last year "could've been the game that maybe kept us out of the NIT or something like that," Simmons said. "

The announcers for ESPN3 are being very kind to Bradley. I saw a few turnovers committed by the Braves and the announcers credited good defense to Evansville, when in fact the TOs were unforced. The team looks worse than the last game. I hope the team doesn't have to stay to clean up the arena at Evansville.

we're almost 20 games into their freshman seasons in college - can't ply the freshman excuse any more...
bad shots and unforced turnovers have to factored in on whether scholarships get renewed

From what I can find, looks like the last time BU scored 35 points or less was a 35-31 win over Oklahoma A&M Feb. 28, 1949.

The last time BU lost with 35 points or less was on Jan. 10, 1949- BU lost to Oklahoma A&M 64-30

Good players don't keep making the same mental mistakes.

Let's continue to put things in perspective. Coach gets hired after season ends, most if not all decent high school seniors are already committed to other programs, the entire returning eam bails leaving 3 players from which to field a team....now new coach must coerce enough players to come here in 2 months just to conduct 5 on 5 practices, the only returning senior BIG goes down for good, coach refuses to fall to the temptation of JV players so he can instill his own methods......and 4 months later season begins. Is anyone REALLY shocked by the play of mediocre players who came in at last minute to fill a HUGE void? Nice guys but not highly recruited players with huge talent.....and none of them have a single role model to follow or emulate? I personally am gratEful that we have a basketball coach who is teaching his program to play basketball. I can see basketball on the court...unfortunately we don't have players strong enough to execute it yet. BUT I am convinced we will when Coach is able to secure the talent. This is not a 1-2 year turnaround folks so lets watch for improvements in the game first then when e players arrive we should see the improvement in the results.
