It was interesting how WSU went out of their way not to say anything complimentary about a BU team they need not have pretended to respect (and I'm not taking issue with it). They play angry and they don't suffer little boys. Most opposing coaches belch some drivel about how BU is gonna be just great -- such impressive young men. Not so for GM, who had two points to make after the game: 1) that his freshman made our freshmen look like chumps; 2) that his primary concern was not getting any of his starters injured in a game they could win by 27 with deep-bench players on the floor.
Then Van Vleet had two points to make about Pittman: that he played like crap and that he shouldn't try to be Van Vleet (he should settle for merely being himself).
I must say, I found it oddly refreshing. There's something insulting about being condescended to after being thrashed. WSU at least spared us that.
