First of all, I wouldn't say Iowa crushed Mich St. 2ndly, Mich St is playing without their best player and maybe one of college hoops best players - Denzel Valentine.

Now... don't misunderstand me... I am not a big fan of Valentine. But still - he is very good.

And... Las Vegas odds had Iowa favored by 2 1/2 in the game. So Iowa covered the 2 1/2 by winning by 13.

      Not a crushing IMO, though.

Big Ten action getting started and Illini lose at home to Michigan 78-68
Nunn & Hill are about all Illinois has

Indiana edges Rutgers with Max Bielfeldt getting 18 pts & 14 rebs off the bench for Indiana - and Omari Grier getting 20 pts for Rutgers

One more, Northwestern is losing at Nebraska who are definitely not picked to be at the top.
Going into 2nd half, tho, Nate Taphorn zero playing time.
Everybody hooting about Northwestern definitely gonna go to the NCAA this year....but seriously??? Classic ignorant Big Ten bias....
Their RPI right now is 94 and their Strength of Schedule is 313!
This is almost exactly where SIU is sitting...except SIU's SOS is MUCH better at 286.
Is there a person on the planet that thinks SIU is gonna get an at-large bid with those numbers?
Remember Barry had an RPI of 24 & SOS of 46 and did NOT get in!

Northwestern came back to win but it was interesting..
they were playing without starting center Alex Olah so they UN-redshirted a freshman who wasn't going to be playing this year... a kid named Dereck Pardon...

In just his 2nd game all Pardon did was come off the bench to go 11-14, score 28 pts, grab 12 rebounds and singlehandedly win this game for Northwestern!
