The MVC goes 5-1 so far, with the UNI-Hawaii game not scheduled to begin until 12:30 AM.
The only loss for the night is a bit of a surprise. SEMO, who was 0-10 with none of their 10 losses even being close, and an RPI close to 300, beat Missouri State.

I think the Valley will be a 3 team race between Wichita, UNI and Evansville with it being a tossup for the other 7 spots. Don't think we'll be able to avoid Thursday night in St. Louis but maybe we can improve by then to have a chance to win a game there.

Valley has a chance for a real good nite - and can go 6-1 if UNI wins in Hawaii

Egidijus Mockevicius with another pretty decent game, 19 points & 18 rebounds, plus 3 blocks
Seriously - the guy needs to start getting some big-time national attention...he's averaging 18 & 14 and hitting 67% from the floor..all of which is even more impressive considering the offense runs thru Balentine who takes way more shots.
The guy getting the most press in all of DI and projected to be the #1 draft pick next year is Ben Simmons at 18 ppg & 14 rpg.

Drake's Abrahamson probably sealed up another Newcomer award with 30 pts & 8 rebs

          Wichita with pretty balanced scoring

Can't say much for Missouri State, they trailed essentially the whole way, losing to a team that had a worse record than we do (0-10)

Illinois State's head coach Dan Muller benched his two senior starters Akoon-Purcell & Paris Lee to start the game thinking it would stimulate better play.
Maybe it had some effect as ISU jumped to a 15-pt lead in the 1st half.
Tennessee State's starters combined for 6-23 & just 12 pts, and Paris Lee was scoreless in just 3 minutes - must really be in the doghouse.

Northern Iowa is going down out in Hawaii...
Hawaii 68 - UNI 47 with under 4 minutes left
UNI shooting poorly and Washpun with 7 turnovers and fouled out
This is the huge advantage Hawaii has - getting to play all their home games against teams that just crossed 4 or 5 time zones

edit...Final score 68-52 ... UNI really played poorly down the stretch..
In the final 10 minutes of the game they made only TWO baskets..
In same same final 10 minutes UNI had eight turnovers to go with all their missed shots
MVC is now 65-56 overall and 56-56 vs. DIs

Paris Lee is only a JR.
