not a good day for the MVC so far
the Wichita loss to Seton Hall exposes again that they are a 2-tool team...
nobody else stepped up and 3 of their 5 starters were quite unproductive
St. Joe's 79 - ISU 65 but it wasn't anywhere near that close...
ISU trailed by 19 at half, then 25 then 30 then 32 points in the 2nd half....
By then St. Joe's not only pulled their starters - but even pulled their subs and played the final 7-8 minutes with their really deep subs & 3rd team players.
Remember, ISU was picked by some to battle for the top of the MVC - whoa.
Valpo 74 - Missouri State 45 - again, whoa...MSU just beat Oklahoma State!
Loyola did get a win vs. near-winless UIC, but Drake lost and now we're counting on UNI at Iowa State and InSU at Saint Louis
and what's with the obvious east coast bias....Utah being unranked...
this is a very good team, only 2 losses - both to Top-10 caliber teams....
So maybe after the Utes knocked off DUKE today, the voters will wake up

UNI was leading Iowa State by 11 but Iowa State just went on a run and now it's
UNI 66 - Iowa State 64 with 7:32 left
Saint Louis up 18-16 with 5 min left 1st half over Indiana State.
If we don't pull one of these games out, then the MVC will go 1-6 today...
MVC is 55-53 right as of this minute with these two games left to be resolved.
Nine of the wins are non-DI so officially in the RPI determination the MVC is 46-53.

Nice win for UNI. Iowa State had the ball with a chance to win, but made a bad turnover, allowing UNI to hold on for the 81-79 win-

St. Louis with a 27-24 lead over Indiana State at halftime-

wow - UNI with the two best wins this year - UNC & Iowa State
They are the only MVC team that might have a gripe if they miss on an at-large bid...
guarantee ya Wes Washpun will be Player of the Week - 28 pts, 7 rebs, 11 assists. 2 stl
UNI hits 58% overall and 59% from the arc - this is why you gotta recruit shooters!
Meanwhile in what must be a real snorer of a game, Saint Louis leads Indiana State 27-24 at half...
Indiana State's STARTERS are just 3-17 and have scored just 8 points! Thankfully their bench has done a bit better.

One other interesting result..
In a game that was tied in the final second - a New Mexico player calls for a time out in a scramble...
but New Mexico doesn't have a time out so Rice shoots the technical FT's and wins 90-89
