Wisconsin Head Coach Bo Ryan retires after Tuesday's game

Bo Ryan who has suggested he would retire at the end of this season, and then seemed to backtrack on that, has suddenly announced his retirement effective immediately.
In tonight's postgame press conference after Wisconsin's win over Texas A&M-CC, Ryan announced his retirement, and it was announced that Assistant Coach Greg Gard will take over as interim head coach.

Another pre-emptive retirement? Saves Bo the embarrassment of being ridden out of town on a rail if there is a disappointing finish to this season...

Or is there some recruiting/player comp scandal hiding in the woods the NCAA is getting close to?

Bo wanted to retire after last season and wanted Gard to take over. Gard's father was battling cancer so Bo came back. Their AD has basically said that Gard would not get the HC job so Bo is retiring mid-season to give Gard a chance to prove himself and earn the job. If Wisky does well with him at the helm it becomes a little more difficult to go hire someone else. At least I believe that is the thinking going on here.

The University investigated itself and closed the case.

She appears to be a bit younger than Bo Ryan

So this whole investigation by the University began a year ago when Ryan finally dumped this woman he was having the affair with. Then in retaliation, she sent an email to every university official she could find claiming Bo had spent University money to take her along on recruiting trips. It seems clear her entire intent was to harm him and his reputation for dumping her.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
