The bald ref had told him several times during the game to "sit down". For those who haven't attended a game, Coach Wardle stands the entire game and yells instructions at his players. But apparently, the bald ref did not like him standing, and felt he had the authority to command that he sit down. Maybe the quick technical was retribution for what he thought was Wardle ignoring his commands to sit down.
Apparently that ref has never called an Indiana University game where "Clappy the Clown" runs up and down the sideline the whole game and "purposely" is on the court (making the half-court more narraw) when it is the offensive end for the opponent...........and nobody ever calls him on it?

The game was ridiculous against a team that did everything it could to lose to us. Wardle was a little snippy with Snell after the game. Not sure I have ever heard someone like that with Dave before. Dave handled it well and really watered down the questions so coach could calm down, which he did.

I just noticed Barker played 45 minutes last night??¦.which is why he was non existent at the end of regulation and the OT's??¦??¦??¦??¦.a post player should have more than 5 rebounds playing 45 minutes??¦..

We just have to remember these guys are freshman??¦??¦I think the Ball State game kind of gave us some hope that we would be better than we thought this year??¦..with finals coming up hopefully we regroup and get a little better as the season goes??¦..it really could be a brutal MVC season though and I think we should brace ourselves for that

hope the coach knows the fans understand and are behind the team...
don't focus on the fans - go get the next opponent!

odd how we're a mini-version of ISU - play well against good teams then play poorly against beatable teams

Yes coach was a little snippy with Dave after the game and I've never heard a coach use that tone as long as I can remember. I know it has to be very flustrating for him to continue to see the same mistakes game after game. What bothers me the most is our total lack of free throw shooting. There are plenty of other things that bother me but that hits home the most. Even our guards struggle from the line and that is unacceptable in my mind. A friend of mine told me our free throw defense was pretty good, as N. Dakota was also struggling from the line. Little did we know at the time ,that it would also be a good reason we lost to a team we should have beaten. We all knew this was going to be a very tough year but I sense some people on here are starting to question whether some of these kids are D-1 material. Lets hope they figure this out soon.

I know most didn't think much of Mike Shaw but I think he would have helped quite a bit??¦.certainly on defense and probably on the boards. I think Barker would be better playing under 30 minutes a game as well.
