might be a little harder for us to get detailed stats in an ongoing basis for Jayden, but anyone else who finds links or reports is welcome to keep contributing..

We know Jayden's stats over the summer and from international play last year -- but now he's playing with the Sydney Kings -
he missed the past game last Wednesday - likely because he was travelling to Peoria for his visit. his team took a tough loss without him.

He has reportedly only played in two of their games so far...

btw- one of his current Sydney Kings teammates - Angus Brandt - also played here in Central IL - he played at the Washington, IL TOC in 2008

Here's an older picture from a year ago-

The Sydney Kings look like good shooters but they sure don't appear to play much defense.

Here's video of Jayden's clutch 3-pointer with just over 30 seconds to go that put ACD ahead to stay & win the game!

Jayden has really nice shooting form...

Arlington Country Day loses to West Oaks 69-65 - unfortunately their local media does a really poor job supplying stats.

Jayden Hodgson gets 2nd Team All SIAA honors!!
To give you an idea of the level of talent - the MVP, Azubukie in the blue shirt, is a 5-STAR Kansas commit,
Andres Feliz (far left) scored 28 to beat ACD and is going to American Conference USF, Loren Christian Jackson is a former BU recruit going to Long Beach State,
and Richardson Maitre (far right) is a Bradley recruit...and has been listed as 6-3 - LINK - same as Jayden.

#5 in the white ACD uniform

                      Pretty amazing...
Jayden Hodgson transferred to play for Jacksonville, FLORIDA Arlington Country Day right at the end of January, then their season ended less than a month later at the end of February...
so he only played ONE MONTH in the STATE of Florida...and yet...
                      HE GOT ALL STATE honors!!!

That is quite an accomplishment for Jayden! However it is important to note that being listed as an all-stater on the Independent team in Florida is not the same as being an all-stater on the Florida FSHAA team. The FSHAA is the Florida version of the IHSA in Illinois. Jayden played for a school that was an independent school that did not compete against other schools in the state of Florida that were members of the FSHAA. They were also not eligible to play in the FSHAA State Tournament. I am not trying to take away from his accomplishment as a player. In comparison, Nate Kennel at Metamora was a member of the IHSA all-state team.

Lets hope both players turn out to be good players for Bradley. Most of us thought Joel Okafor was going to be a good one, after being all-state in Indiana, playing in the Indiana / Kentucky all-star game and seeing some game videos of him.

I know - Florida has numerous independent prep schools that travel out of state to play in top level prep tourneys...
the state places such schools in a separate class but they are playing at the highest level - often facing the top ranked teams in the nation.

They are playing at the highest level but to catch the eyes and of those who give the awards in such a short time is impressive...

Many of those so called Independent schools in Florida, have extremely small enrollments and travel throughout the country to play games. They generally consist of players from other countries or players that have had academic or other issues from here in the United States. Generally when they travel to other areas to play, the games are against other Independent schools. Most of the Independent schools do not have teachers that meet state requirements to teach at a public school or parochial school, however they do find a way to qualify good athletes for college. You don't hear much about these schools other than for athletic purposes. There are cases however where independent schools are start-up schools that eventually join the state organization for the state they are in. Locally, I believe Peoria Christian was independent in athletics in its infancy. It did eventually join the IHSA. Most of the independent schools we are talking about however, would not exist if not for athletics and they do not play that competitive of a schedule, although most teams they play may have one good player.

PCS was small and most sports would not have been competitive in IHSA - just like Normal Calvary Baptist & others...
as they grew they did join IHSA (& IESA for junior high) and have even won state titles...

but there are also top prep schools like Decatur Christian (did finally join IHSA in 2011), Boys to Men, & Brehm Prep that played as prep schools and chose not to join IHSA or follow their rules because they did recruit kids for athletic purposes.
